Developing visionary leaders who will create a more dynamic society

My personal mission and the Graduate School of Management
Globis Management School, which started with just one marketing course in 1992, has now grown to become the largest management educational institution in Japan. The Graduate School of Management at Globis University was established in 2006, inheriting the traditions and reputations of our entrepreneurial past. We launched the International MBA program (IMBA) in 2009, taught entirely in English, as an important cornerstone for our goal of being the No.1 business school in Asia. I originally got the vision for Globis while at Harvard Business School, where I was shocked to discover my classmates saying that "their number one dream is to create a venture." This led me to ask myself "What is my mission in life?" Eventually, I realized my dream was to build an institution that can create new value from combining people, goods, and capital in new ways. Through this mission, I was able to achieve my dream of being entrepreneur, helping to create and innovate societies.
Not just management, but developing visionary leaders
The key feature of our MBA program is its practicality. Our MBA program has incorporated practical business expertise by leveraging the numerous corporate training programs that we deliver to over 250 corporations each year, the sound investments we make through our venture capital fund of $400 million, and the original publications such as our "MBA Management Book Series," which has sold over 1 million copies. Through these efforts, the Graduate School of Management at Globis University doesn't just teach management; we develop visionary leaders.

Visionary leaders who create and innovate
In my class "Entrepreneurial Leadership," students learn in depth about the leaders and change agents of today and yesterday. Through this course, students understand that leaders may need to take risks, which are an unavoidable part of change. Globis puts particular emphasis on developing one's personal human capacity and mission, which we consider essential in overcoming fears about the risks of creation and innovation. Because Globis initially started as a non-degree business school, we attract people who are hungry to learn rather than people who are hungry to get the degree. Our students, faculty and staff are passionate about bringing changes to the world and creating a better society. At Globis, we call these people "visionary leaders who create and innovate societies."

Becoming the No.1 business school in Asia
The Graduate School of Management at Globis University has a mission to become the No.1 business school in Asia. Becoming No.1 in Japan will not be enough for us to be recognized by the world. Only by becoming the No.1 business school in Asia will our MBA be recognized throughout the world and provide opportunities for our alumni to fully contribute to societies around the world. We believe that realizing this mission is our obligation to all of the students who chose to study at Globis in its early stages. Therefore, Globis will continue to move forward step by step to provide the best learning environment possible. I look forward to meeting many visionary leaders who are passionate about developing their skills, their human networks, and their personal mission to create and innovate societies.
