The IMBA Educational Principle

photo

In times of rapid change, we have high expectations for the students at our IMBA program to create and innovate societies throughout Japan, Asia & the world. To enable our students to achieve this mission, the IMBA program equips our students with the following attributes:

1) Skill Development through integration of both theory and practicality

At the IMBA, the lecturers conduct classes as excellent facilitators who draw the students' diverse opinions and questions, using cases of corporations in Japan and from the world. For instance, when we use cases from the airline industry, we discuss the competitive factors and differentiations in this particular industry, and then ask a student who has experience in this industry and who can share actual competitive factors and latest services offered. Then a lecturer with extensive business experience will ask whether the same method can be used for different target segments. Through numerous interactions like these, the students not only learn about management theory, but more importantly acquire the knowledge of what is behind these theories, how to apply them in reality, and what to look out for when using these skills. The "a-ha" moments our students get by listening to fellow classmates and the pleasures of fully understanding what the lecturer meant to convey, will become invaluable roadmaps in their decision makings throughout their life time.

2) Personal mission discovery and development

Creations and innovations will not come without strong passion. Why should you try this new initiative? How far should you take this innovation? At the IMBA, students will be given opportunities to think deeply about their own personal mission and to find their burning passion. We will touch upon history and experience the joys and the hardships that past entrepreneurs and leaders have gone through in order to think about why you should devote yourself in your endeavors. Through thorough interactions with fellow classmates and lecturers at the IMBA, the passion of each student will become unwavering determination.

3) Human network expansion

You have developed your skills. You know what your mission is. We believe that this is not enough to realize your passion. In order to grasp the opportunity, you need to be able to build solid human networks. At the IMBA, we provide special seminars and Aska conferences where you will be able to meet the true leaders of today. Through club activities with classmates and research projects with lecturers, students foster life-long relationships by going through both the good times and the bad times together. By receiving and providing positive influences among students, each student fosters the energy to create their own future paths.

I truly look forward to meeting you at the IMBA program and to see you create and innovate societies in Asia and around the world. Let's create the future together.
